Save the Date -- May 26 & 27, 2010

Overview

The NYSTEM 2010 Awardees Meeting, open to all current NYSTEM-funded investigators,* will convene May 26 & 27 in New York City at the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center, located on Fifth Avenue at 34th Street. The program will include plenary talks and a poster session, and begin with a half-day Shared Equipment and Facilities Workshop.

The Shared Equipment and Facilities Workshop is intended to inform stem cell scientists across the state about the capabilities of NYSTEM-funded resources, identify new collaborative opportunities and enhance cooperation among resources in order to best serve the stem cell science community. The Workshop will include selected brief talks describing individual facilities, as well as panel discussions and informal interaction.

Topics for the plenary sessions will include: neural stem cells; cancer stem cells; stem cells in cardiovascular, liver and other diseases; pluripotency and reprogramming; stem cell biology; and tissue engineering and technology. Plenary session speakers will be selected from submitted abstracts by the Program Committee and session Chairs. Sessions will comprise both highlighted state-of-the-art research and additional shorter presentations. Abstracts not selected for a talk will be presented in a poster session.

* Please note that participation in a NYSTEM scientific meeting is an award contract requirement.
